Tunisia- [Audio] Mohamed Larbi Jelassi: Ennahda attachment to Qalb Tounes is only a political manoeuvre

Ennahda attachment to Qalb Tounes is illogical since the Islamic party built its electoral campaign against Qalb Tounes and the corruption surrounding the party, said Democratic Current MP Mohamed Larbi Jelassi in a declaration to Tunisie Numérique. This stance can solely be a political manoeuvre, he pointed out.

This manoeuvre can be interpreted in two forms, the first is Ennahda desire to overthrow the government from the start and the second is a manoeuvre to improve its conditions and position in the government, explained Jelassi.

He stressed that in both case scenarios the Islamic party is required to clarify its position to overthrow the government in the parliament and not behind the shadows by presenting its demands to its partners the Democratic Current, Tayha Tounes, People’s Movement and prime minster designate Elyes Fakhfakh. According to him, Ennahda has to stay away from the logic blackmail and outbid.

Remarking on the division in the political situation, he expressed hope that the government will get the parliament approval. He pointed out that many do not adhere to their parties policies rather they obey their own  agendas, indicating that such people will not be in the government. He affirmed that the democratic current and many parties desire to serve the country.
