Tunisia – AUDIO: Surgical operations stops in Kairouan hospital due to water shortage … Regional Healthcare Director explains

In an official statement to “Tunisie Numérique” regional healthcare director, Dr Sami Rekik announced that all surgical and anaesthetic procedures were suspended in Aghlabides intensive care units in Kairouan.

The hospital administration has deiced to use a large tank to store water. Properly estimated at 200.00 DT, the operational tanks will be available for effective use within two or three days. Local hospitals in Tunisia are supposed to be properly equipped with water tanks and electric generators for use when needed. The National Water Distribution Utility was called to resolve the issue.
