Tunisia-[Audio]Yassine Ayari: It’s over for Kais Saied abroad

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, MP Yassine Ayari disclosed that the President of the Republic Kais Saied is finished abroad. Ayari clarified that Tunisia will not receive aid, credits and donations pointing to the lack of diplomatic support to Tunisia as well as meetings between Kais Saied and foreign leaders.

“Saied doesn’t want to deal with any party,” he explained. Ayari recollected that the United States has not designated a new ambassador to Tunisia indicating that the country has been excluded from the Democracy Summit. As for the sanctions that could be inflicted on Tunisia, the deputy confirmed that the European Union had suspended its aid for Tunisia, highlighting that the US Congress could suspend military aid offered to the Defense Ministry.

The speaker explained that it could be done if it was discovered that the military was involved in the July 25 coup. “We are not affected by US aid since Tunisia was not cited in the new finance law. Today we don’t have any friends, ”adds the same source.

He added that Saudi Arabia and Kuwait declined to meet with Kais during the Middle East Green Initiative Summit attended by Nejla Bouden. Remarking on the resumption of parliamentary work, Ayari said that this possibility should be ruled out. “Parliament, the provisional body responsible for checking the constitutionality of bills, the Constitution and the separation of powers are over,” he said.

The MP at the same time revealed that meetings between the leaders of the UGTT and Ennahdha were paused after the disclosure of the case.
