Tunisia-[Audio]Ahmed Gaaloul: We are in a dangerous situation

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, Ennahdha Member Ahmed Gaaloul stated that the political class had failed to attain a political consensus to build a government capable of resolving the outstanding problems. The politician added that the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed only worsens the political situation by alleging that he would be capable of carrying out a political cleaning.

“One person cannot control the wheels of the state,” he said. “The UGTT would do well to establish a national dialogue in order to succeed in forming a powerful and legitimate political government capable of consulting with all parties,” added the former MP.

Tunisians accuse the complete political class of corruption and not just Parliament. They are afraid of the future, according to him. He further indicated that the entire political class is failing and need to assume its responsibility to the people. “No one has the right to speak on behalf of the Tunisian people,” said
