Lawyer Ayachi Hammami will appear this Tuesday, January 10, 2023, before the investigating judge of the Tunis court of Tunis.
An appearance that follows the complaint filed against him by the Minister of Justice, Leïla Jaffel, under decree 54.
He is accused of having intentionally used social networks and communication systems to spread false information, in connection with a declaration in which he declared that the Minister of Justice had dismissed the judges of the anti-terrorist pole. He is also accused of trying to harm public security following this declaration.
In a statement made today on Mosaique FM, the human rights activist stated he was facing accusations of a political nature.
“The basis of the accusations against me is political. These accusations consist primarily of the fact of having spread false rumours and of attributing false information which would undermine public security and people.”
