Tunisia: Ayachi Zammel condemned to one year and eight months in prison by Jendouba court

According to a message published by lawyer Messaoudi Abdessatar on his Facebook page, the Jendouba court convicted Ayachi Zammel, one of the three candidates for the Tunisian presidential elections in 2024, to a sentence of one year and eight months in jail.

This conviction, about suspicions regarding sponsorship falsifications for the presidential candidacy, comes as the campaign is in full swing, adding a new dimension to the challenges of this election and it could have repercussions on its candidacy and the dynamics of the race Presidential.
