Tunisia-Bakers suspend their activities from this date

The national trade union chamber of bakeries has elected to cease activities throughout the national territory, from November 15, 2020.

A decision was taken because of a dispute with the Ministry of Commerce which declined an agreement signed with the negotiation committee.

Correspondence has been sent to the department on this matter. It was further decided to organize a meeting of the chamber in the governorate of Kasserine to evaluate the situation in the sector.

Professionals have demanded that the state pay its royalties to professionals in the sector for more than five months. They also denounced the difficulties which now threaten several bakers with bankruptcy.
