The crisis of waste imported from Italy proceeds to provoke controversy in Tunisia pending the ultimate results of probes launched by the Ministry of Local Affairs and Environment and by the judiciary.
Meanwhile, the Tunisian Customs has taken the conclusion to ban the import of waste containers from now on, Customs spokesperson Haythem Zannad told Shems FM.
A decision was taken in response to the case of waste imported from Italy by a Tunisian company. Haythem Zannad has likewise indicated in this sense that the Tunisian company which shipped this waste is called upon to ship it back to Italy, revealing that the ministries of Finance and the Environment, as well as the services of the presidency government, must coordinate with the Italian parties for this purpose.
