Tunisia-BCT refuses to finance the 2020 supplementary budget

The chairman of the Finance Committee Haykel Mekki announced this Friday, November 20, 2020, that the Central Bank has repeatedly declined to finance the 2020 supplementary budget, despite its adjustment by the government.

According to Mekki, the governor of the BCT, Marouene Abassi, emphasised on parliamentary approval in order to fund the budget.

On the other hand, Haykel Mekki criticized the speed of the members of the committee who approved the new version of the complementary finance bill of 2020, before coordinating with the Central Bank.
