Tunisia – Béja: Red Crescent starts collection campaign to guarantee Ramadan basket

The local manager of the Red Crescent in Béja told Tunisie Numerique correspondent that the local office started today to gather donations to provide the traditional Ramadan basket for needy families with limited income.

She confirmed that they are targeting a larger number of beneficiary families, in coordination with local social affairs services.

She added that the basket will include, practically, everything the citizen will need during Ramadan, particularly given the surge in prices.

She ensured that the campaign which begins today will continue until March 10, and will take place in three stages. The first is the collection of donations, then the packaging stage and the third phase will consist of the distribution of these packages to needy families.

She added that the red crescent is relying on the spirit of solidarity of citizens, to be able to reach a greater number of beneficiaries, across the city of Béja.
