Tunisia – Belaati: Sfax seawater desalination plant operational next month

The Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, Abdel Moneim Belaati, stated that he was today examining the progress of the Bagargour water desalination station project in Sfax, revealing that by the end of June 2024, the station will be ready and will enter the operational stage.

On the sidelines of his opening of the Mediterranean Agricultural and Food Industries Exhibition in Sfax, he confirmed that the average water level in dams in general only represents 34% of their capacity, pointing to a growth in the filling rate of the Bouhartama dam to secure more water storage, adding that 4 new dams are currently under construction.
