Tunisia – Belaïd affair: Ennahdha considers judgments rendered as proof of its innocence

Ennahdha estimated that the pronouncement of the rulings in the case of the assassination of Chokri Belaïd “should put an ending to the commerce with the blood of the martyr and restore the dignity of those who have been impacted by fraudulent and murderous political accusations, in particular of the leader of the movement, Rached Ghannouchi”, according to a press release published this morning, Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

The movement added, in its press release following the pronouncement of the judgments in the case of the assassination of Belaïd, that “the findings of the security services with all their specializations and the details completed by the judicial services are considered with certainty as an evidence of the innocence of Ennahdha”, and conclusive proof of the suspicious agenda of this so-called defence organization, which consists of targeting a party. » An unjust, aggressive, lying and slanderous organization. »

The movement stated that it had demanded after the court to put an end to the “series of trafficking” in the case of martyr Choukri Belaïd by rendering its judgments, “that the hearing be public and that it be broadcast live so that public opinion can be notified of its merits and its developments and appreciate the extent of organized targeting which has extended for many years at the expense of the victim and the accused” and at the expense of a fair, thorough and independent judicial system.

According to the press release from the Ennahdha movement, more than ten years after the assassination of Belaïd, “the court of first instance of Tunis rendered gave d its judgment at dawn on Wednesday against the actors in this affair, which shook public opinion national, destabilized the ruling coalition, sowed doubt among the national parties, exacerbated the gap between intellectual and political families and returned to a time when “the potential of coming together on a national project without exclusion or discrimination was impossible”.

The statement continued: “Hostile and biased parties insisted on holding the Ennahdha movement accountable for this political assassination, and engaged in this political conspiracy, based on ideological and political parties, and exercised pressure, by all means, to influence the course of the affair at a given moment, where Tunisians need to know the naked truth.

 Ennahda movement renewed its call to “open the page of significant reconciliations and to turn away from the voices crying out for sedition, exclusion and hatred”.
