Tunisia-Ben Arous: 3,000 new jobs thanks to the inauguration of a Japanese industrial unit

A Japanese industrial airbag manufacturing unit was inaugurated yesterday Tuesday, March 15 in  Ben Arous. With a production power of 18 million airbags per year, this unit has allowed the creation of more than three thousand jobs. On this occasion, the Minister of Industry Neila Gongi underlined the significance of such projects in forming jobs and boosting the economic fabric of the country.
She repeated the government’s commitment to improving the investment environment and securing all assets for the profit of investors.

Despite many procedural problems, Japanese investment in Tunisia continues to increase. The Japanese ambassador to Tunisia Shinsuke Shimizu had called, in this sense, to enhance the performance of the port of Rades. “The most important problem is the conditions of the port of Radès. Generally, a port of this size handles around 20 containers per hour, except that it only handles two. This affects trade, and inflicts great losses on Japanese companies and various other companies,” he explained.
