Tunisia-Birth certificate issued online now recognized by Ministry of Interior

In a joint press release, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Communication Technologies revealed that the birth certificate issued online through the citizen portal www.e-bawaba.tn is now acknowledged to be presented to all the services of the Ministry of the Interior which require a copy of the birth certificate from the civil status registers when applying for or renewing the national identity card and passport.

“The birth certificate issued online includes a registration number and now has legal proof per the legal procedures in force. The birth certificate issued online requires neither a handwritten signature nor a stamp” reads the same source.

It added that this step is part of the simplification of administrative procedures and the digitalization of administrative services.
