Civil Protection in Bizerte successfully extinguished a fire on Thursday evening that broke out on one side of the municipal impound warehouse in the commune of Bizerte. This was reported by Brigadier General Kamel Mélliti, the regional director of Civil Protection in Bizerte.

In a statement to TAP, Mélliti revealed that as soon as the civil protection services were notified of the fire, a large fire truck was dispatched to the scene. The team managed to control and extinguish the fire, stopping it from spreading to the rest of the warehouse’s contents.

An official source in the commune of Bizerte indicated that the fire destroyed 14 motorcycles and cars, burned the side of a rural transport vehicle, and damaged a quantity of clothing. Further, a security guard sustained a minor injury while assisting civil protection agents during the firefighting operation.

The same source reported that the municipal administration directed the legal representative of the municipality, accompanied by the enforcement officer, to the site, and opened an administrative investigation into the incident, while the security services, for their part, opened a security investigation into the incident.
