President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed received, Monday, July 13, 2020, Algeria Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sabri Boukadoum. The latter has delivered a message from president Abdelmajid Tebboune.
The meeting was a chance to address the situation in the region especially Libya and to renew the importance of continuing coordination between Tunisia and Algeria at all levels to help the Libyan brothers in overcoming that crises that their country is experiencing through a seize fire and Returning to the dialogue table.
Sabri Bogadoum said that “he noted with satisfaction the great convergence of the position of the two countries in the face of the crisis in Libya and their intention to work together to overcome the deadlock that is currently occurring”, considering that “the Libyan question is a matter of national security for the two countries and that helping to remedy it is a duty demanded by common destiny and good neighborliness ”.
This meeting was also an occasion to discuss the strengthening of relations between Tunisia and Algeria. The cooperation between the two countries should, moreover, know a fresh stimulus in light of the Algerian president expected visit to Tunisia in the forthcoming period.
