Out of 1283 COVID-19 tests carried out on August 8 including 17 in the framework of the follow-up of active cases, 26 came out positive, the Health Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
They include 19 new cases of which 12 are local infections,7 are new imported cases and 7 previously confirmed cases who were still infected with this virus
The overall confirmed cases have consequently reached 1697 from a total of 104706 tests carried out since the outbreak of the pandemic last March.
The overall assessment reveals 1263 recoveries, 51 deaths and 383 active cases, including 13 hospitalised.
