Tunisia-Breaking news: Tunisia reports 6 new COVID-19 cases,death toll hits 46

Tunisia announced six more cases of contamination with COVID-19 on  May 18, 2020, taking the total number of infections to  1043, the Ministry of Health said.

The ministry indicated in a statement, “Following a total of 1601 lab tests, 20 cases tested positive, of which 6   were new cases and 14 were previously confirmed cases who were still infected with this virus.

The death toll from the coronavirus in Tunisia rose to  46  so far while recoveries grew to 819.

Moreover, 178 are still active cases and under monitoring, while three are hospitalized.

The Ministry, therefore, urged citizens to fully respect the law and comply with the measures of isolation and targeted lockdown across all the regions including permission to move. Citizens are also urged to apply health measures from washing hands, social distancing, wearing maks and avoid crowds.

The ministry also asked all returnees, infected people and those in contact with them to adhere to self-isolation in places set up by the ministry.
