Nine more imported cases of infection with COVID-19 were recorded on July 9, bringing the overall cases of infection to 1240, the Health Ministry announced on Friday.
The ministry said in a statement, “Following a total of 879 lab tests,16 cases tested positive, of which 9 are new infections and 7 previously confirmed cases who were still infected with this virus”.
As such, the number of confirmed cases rose to 1240 out of 76418 screening tests performed since the first cases were identified last March.
Additionally,123 patients are still virus-carriers and kept in observation while recoveries rose to 1067. The death toll stands at 50 since the beginning of the outbreak.
