The UN Security Council approved, on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, unanimously, a Tunisian-French resolution aimed to fight the coronavirus pandemic, reads an announcement by the presidency of the republic.
Thie vote comes after a long negotiating path that has spanned for more than four months since it was submitted in its Tunisian formula last March to members of the Council.
This resolution specifies the cessation of armed conflicts for a defined period and calls on the various parties involved in it to a humanitarian peace to allow the delivery of humanitarian aid. It also affirms that the situations of violence and instability emanating from these conflicts can lead to the spread of the pandemic and the tenacity of containing its effects. In addition, not being able to besiege this pandemic, on the other hand, it will have serious repercussions for international peace and security.
