Tunisia-Breaking news:Grand Tunis isolates itself and bans movement

The governors of Tunis, Ben Arous, Ariana, and Manouba officially decided, Wednesday, June 30, 2021, to halt indefinitely the movement of individuals and vehicles throughout Grand Tunis from July 1 between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Medical emergencies and night workers are excluded from the curfew.
The measures include the following:
  • Travel to and from Grand Tunis will be banned for two weeks from July 1 to 14.
  • No entrance to the four governorates is allowed except for compelling reasons or to guarantee the smooth running of national and university exams.
  • Gatherings, sporting and cultural events, and public and private celebrations and parties are forbidden.
  • Prayer in mosques is likewise suspended.
  • Party rooms, Moorish baths, sports halls, gaming areas and conference rooms will also be closed. Cafes and restaurants are banned from serving their customers on-site and in closed spaces. Only outdoor spaces are allowed with the lifting of chairs and tables from 4 p.m.
  • Tourist restaurants and supermarkets are restricted to a capacity of 30% with respect to health protocols.
