Tunisia-Cancellation of Quarantine measures for Tunisians and tourists arriving in Tunisia

The Presidency of the Government declared on a set of measures for Tunisians living abroad and tourists arriving in Tunisia as the country prepares to reopen its borders.

The decisions were taken following a meeting by the scientific committee in charge of monitoring the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

The new measures are the following :

• Repatriation flights scheduled for 15, 16 and 17 will be suspended and resumed on June 18.
• Cancellation of the quarantine measure and the obligation for citizens to pay the costs of their accommodation.
• Tunisian returnees on June 18 must submit a negative COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival in Tunisia, the test carried out less than 72 hours before their arrival on Tunisian soil.
• Respect the instructions for self-containment at home with the use of means of social distancing, for 14 days and consent to submit to periodic medical checks.
• Suspended quarantine measures at hotels at the expense of returnees.
• Tourists who have planned stay in Tunisia will also have to present the negative results of a PCR test carried out no later than 72 hours before their travel date.
• Tourists will also be asked to complete a health questionnaire before leaving their country of origin and subject to temperature measurements at the airport.
• Tourists will be taken to their hotels via buses and will adhere to the health protocol applied in these establishments.
• Supervised groups will be allowed to travel to museums and archaeological sites.
• The government is also responsible for carrying out PCR tests for tourists at his request, or from his country of residence, starting from the sixth day of his entry into Tunisia.
