Tunisia-case against “Bronda9” and widespread controversy over video depicting “dating casting” for 30 girls!

A video clip circulating on social media has ignited widespread controversy in Tunisia. The controversial video features a segment where the host, a young Tunisian social media influencer known as “Bronda9,” picks a date from among 30 women who partook in a casting call.

The video garnered thousands of comments and different reactions, with the majority voicing condemnation. Critics accused the video of objectifying Tunisian women, particularly as it surfaced shortly after the celebration of International Women’s Day.

As the 15-minute clip gained traction and faced notable backlash, “Brandak” released a subsequent video asserting that the original content was merely a staged act for a YouTube program.

Contradicting Bronda9’s explanation, the sister of one of the women implicated refuted his claim, alleging that the participants were misled. According to her, the women were unaware of the video’s true nature and were led to believe they were part of a competition, the specifics of which were not disclosed to them. She additionally claimed that editing techniques were employed to portray them negatively.

Moreover, she disclosed that legal action had been initiated against the individual known as Brandaq, accusing him of deception, distorting facts, and unauthorized data publication. She called for intervention from relevant authorities to ensure justice for the affected women.
