Tunisia-Chawki Tabib: SONEDE employees linked water network for their own account

President of the National Anti-Corruption Authority (INLUCC) Chawki Tabib disclosed the Existence of suspicions of corruption within the National Water Distribution Utility (SONEDE).

Speaking at the Administrative Reform, Good Governance, Anti-Corruption Committee meeting on June 15, he affirmed he had received information related to a number of SONEDE employees who linked the water channel for their own account in exchange for fees paid by the citizens.

“We think it is no longer possible to leave things as they are in these public companies, if we continue to do nothing, the bill will be very heavy,” he warned.
