President of the National Salvation Front, Ahmed Najib Chebbi, confirmed that the Front had not submitted a candidate for the upcoming presidential elections and would not support any candidate, due to the absence of conditions for democratic elections and the lack of equal opportunities after targeting freedom of expression and of organization.
He added at a press conference on Tuesday: “There are no free elections in the presence of political detainees… and the Salvation Front presents a request for the release of political prisoners as well as the abolition of the decree 54.”
