Tunisia-Chebika: Demonstrations to demand running water

Residents of the Echouarbiya region and Aouled Nasr (delegation of Chebika) blocked this Monday, August 10, 2020 the  national road number 3 connecting Kairouan to Hajeb El Ayoun.

Barricades were set up and tires burned to demand running water and the resumption of work on the project suspended since 2015.

The project in question is blocked because of the refusal of some citizens to allow the contractor to install pipes on their land. Local authorities are in the process of finding solutions to restart the work and connect the drilling to electricity.
