The former governor of the central bank of Tunisia (BCT), Chedly Ayari has passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, Dr Samir Abdelmoumen, said on his official page.
The defunct was a Tunisian economist, politician and diplomat. He was designated minister several times during Habib Bourguiba’s time and worked as governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia between July 24, 2012, and February 16, 2018.
Ayari was additionally a member of the central committee of the Socialist Destourien Party (PSD) after independence.
