Tunisia-China expresses readiness to support Tunisia’s efforts in fighting COVID-19

President Republic Kais Saied received a written message from Chinese President Xi Jinping.

In the message, the Chinese President displayed gratitude to the Head of State for his care for and solidarity with China in its battle against COVID-19, since the eruption of the virus in that country, reads a statement of the Presidency of the Republic.

Xi Jinping was cited as stating in the statement that the circumstances in China are progressing in terms of prevention and containing the spread of the coronavirus as well as the resumption of production.

China will proceed with intensifying prevention and control measures to conquer the war on COVID-19 as soon as possible.

The Chinese president also voiced consideration to Tunisia for its attempts to stop the pandemic.

He communicated his country’s willingness to give Tunisia within the limits of its capacity with the required material resources and the urgent prevention supplies and equipment it necessitates to fight the coronavirus.

Xi Jinping also revealed China’s readiness to give Tunisia payment credit in case it needs to purchase medical supplies to fight against COVID-19.

The goal is to secure the health safety of the Tunisian and Chinese peoples.

The Chinese President emphasised his willingness to further work with President Kais Saied to expand the bilateral relations in all fields
