Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani, chaired, this Wednesday, November 8, 2023, a ministerial working session on the biometric identity card and passport project at at Kasbah Government Palace,
The session was presented by the Minister of the Interior, the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad and the President of the National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data ( INPDP).
In order to align with the procedures and international standards currently in force, it was decided; on the sidelines of this session, to definitively approve these projects, which will be submitted as soon as possible to the Council of Ministers, before being transmitted to the House of People’s Representatives for examination.
Last July, Interior Minister Kamel Feki affirmed, during a debate session in parliament, that his department had finalized the development of the biometric identity card and passport project.
