Tunisia-Citizens Donate Hair in Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

 Association Selima,Regional Committee of the red Crescent in Ariana and Violette hosted its first annual hair donation event Saturday  at Menzah 6 to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Donators , volunteers ,friends and family members received haircuts from Violette stylists, each generously donating at least 20 inches of their hair to national nonprofit organization Association Selima.

The event witnessed effective coordination between the three local associations by offering free hair cuts to the donators, the donated hair will be carefully collected for the benefit of children attained with cancer. Moreover, violin performance echoed enchanting crowds attending the events.

Red Crescent volunteers played an essential role in supporting and organizing the event, as they mobilized themselves to guide and introduce the event to people and  donators assisting them till the last.

Association Selima

Association Selima is a non-profit organization that aids children with cancer and their families and Supports effectively the oncology department at the children hospital Bechir HAMZA Bab Saadoun and the haematology department of AZIZA OTHMANA hospital.

Offered services:

• The association raise awareness about cancer
• Organize animation for children in the two mentioned hospitals
• Purchase school supplies and clothing for the eid ceremony,
• Taking care of families who are going through financial difficulty making contact with them, prospecting the state of places and needs
• Sensitizing civil society
• Improving laughter therapy in Tunisia
• Adapt hair donation campaign in Tunisia.
