Tunisia-CIVID-19:1818 funds amounts to 200 million dinars

The sum of donations paid to the 1818 fund for the fight against the coronavirus reached 200 million dinars, according to Minister of Health, Fawzi Mahdi.

Speaking at a plenary session in the House of People’s Representatives dedicated to the evaluation of the health, social and educational situation in Tunisia, Mr Mahdi said that his department has set aside 52 million dinars for the acquisition of 370 ambulances which will be delivered to health establishments throughout the Republic. 2 of them have already been paid and 98 more will be paid next week, the minister added.

A part of these donations was devoted to the payment of internal doctors who contributed to the efforts of the ministry in the fight against the coronavirus, according to the minister who stressed that the rest of the funds will be used to acquire medical and laboratory resuscitation equipment and 50 million dinars were distributed in accordance with donor requests.
