Tunisia-Closure of 3 tourist units for lack of hygiene

Ali Marmouri, governor of Jendouba, has decided to shut down three tourist units for 15 days, two of which are found in Ain Draham and one in Tabarka. The closure follows the recording of several health breaches by the regional committee in charge of controlling tourist units during inspection visits.

Among the offences caught: the presence of foul smells and rust in cooling equipment in addition to lack of hygiene and lack of maintenance in kitchens and food storage rooms.

In a statement to the TAP agency, the regional tourism delegate in Tabarka and Ain Draham, Issa Marouani indicated that closed hotel establishments have profited from social bonuses as well as training bonuses for the benefit of workers.
