Tunisia-Closure of two investigations against Abir Moussi

The investigating judge of the court of first instance of Tunis notified today, Wednesday, PDL leader Abir Moussi, of the closure of the investigations in two cases brought against her and of her referral to the chamber of accusation from the Tunis Court of Appeal.

These cases were initiated by the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE).

Formerly, the investigating judge had issued an arrest warrant against Moussi in connection with one of the cases initiated by the ISIE, following the last section of article 24 of decree n°54. This decision followed a media statement she made concerning the ISIE.

The investigating judge also informed Abir Moussi of the closure of investigations in a second case brought by a civil society association. The charges were reclassified as misdemeanours, and she was released to the criminal chamber of the Court of First Instance of Tunis.
