Tunisia-Compulsory self-isolation period for 41 repatriated people to be extended

Local Health Director in Zaghouan Hager Missaoui ruled on prolonging the compulsory 14-day isolation period for 41 persons who had been repatriated from Sub-Saharan countries and settled in the Jebel Ouest health centre in Zaghouan.

This choice was executed  after the announcement of the results of epidemiological tests and the confirmed appearance of a case of Covid-19 infection among them. The infected person is anticipated to be brought to the Monastir COVID-19 centre.

The remaining will be subjected to tests  in addition to to the increase of their quarantine period due to their close contact with the infected person.

This resolution stirred anger and confusion among the people concerned, who were about to leave the isolation centre with their families.

The extension of the mandatory isolation period is a fundamental step to prevent the risk of the spread of this virus, she added.
