Tunisia-Council of the Order of Pharmacists is concerned about suspension of the distribution of drugs

The National Council of the Order of Pharmacists of Tunisia (CNOPT) voiced its deep concern about the impact of the decision of the National Syndicale of Pharmacists (CSPGR), to stop the distribution of drugs throughout the territory, from Monday, December 5, 2022, on patients to access to drugs.

The CNOPT explained that this suspension decision was taken due to the non-renewal, by the Ministry of Finance, of the attestation of exemption on deduction on the sales of drugs for 2022.

“Stopping the activity of wholesalers will directly affect the stock of drugs in pharmacies and their capacity to meet the needs of patients,” said the same source.

In this context, the CNOPT called on the authorities concerned to interfere urgently to find a solution which guarantees the continuity of the distribution of drugs to preserve the health of citizens.
