The Health Ministry announced in a press release on Saturday, that on September 3, 148 more infections by the coronavirus were recorded and 36 cases, already active, have tested positive.
The swabs were taken from 2,597 cases, 75 of whom were taken from active carriers.
The regions that recorded the highest number of infections are Tunis (30), Ben Arous (21) and Kef (20).
In addition, three new deaths were reported in Sousse (01), Sfax (01) and Kébili (01).
The ministry indicates that since the reopening of borders on June 27, 3,341 cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed, including 576 imported cases, 2,728 domestic (81.6%) and 37 deaths (1%).
The same source reports that 70 patients suffering from COVID-19 are currently hospitalised (2.7%), 21 (0.76%) of whom have been admitted to intensive care.
Overall, there are 2,751 active carriers (82%) and 418 symptomatic patients (12.5%).
