Tunisia-COVID-19: Teboursouk classified as a red zone

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, director of preventive health care at the regional health directorate of Béja, Neji Attouani said that the health situation in the region is critical.

Highlighting an increase in infection tally, Attouani announced that 46 new infections have been identified in the past 48 hours.

According to the same source, the regional commission for the fight against disasters has executed new exceptional measures including:

  • The halt of the weekly market in Teboursouk and Dougga
  • Ban on dining in cafes and restaurants
  • Suspension of Friday prayers;
  • Limitation of travel to and from the region, except in certain exceptional cases
