In a statement to Tunisie Numérique, The secretary-general of the Regional Labor Union of Gafsa Ali Abdullah confirmed that The Compagnie des phosphates de Gafsa financial situation is progressively deteriorating.
Abdullah attributed the critical situation due to accumulated debts which is estimated at 800 thousand billion.The union had demanded the government to intervene with no veil.
The General Administration of CPG and The Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines have taken unprofessional measures by employing inadequate people in high positions. He further asserted that abolishing the position of Ministry of Energy and Mines has added more harm than good.
Moreover, Abdullah unveiled that the company is unable to pay its employees salaries and even the Maintenance of its Machines which stopped production ultimately.
