A delegation from the Supreme Judicial Council (CSM) met the president of the republic this Monday, December 6, 2021, and it was a chance to confirm the independence of the judiciary.
In a statement, the CSM remarked that its representatives related to the President of the Republic the challenges faced by justice in order to play its role properly. They assured that the Council plays its role in accordance with the law and the Constitution to guarantee the proper functioning of the judiciary and to guarantee its independence.
The CSM evoked in the same press release its position stated at the general assembly of November 4, 2021, declining any attack on the judiciary through decrees. The existence of the CSM is a guarantee of the independence of the judiciary. The justice reform needs to be done within the framework of constitutional rules and not within the framework of exceptional measures, recalled the same press release.
