Tunisia – Customs foils attempt to smuggle 176 kg of Cannabis

As part of the control of passengers arriving in Tunisia from the port of Marseille, the customs authorities of the northern port of La Goulette were able to seize a quantity of cannabis (Zatla), concealed on board a truck carrying a license plate. foreign registration, and driven by a Tunisian citizen.

The truck had been subjected to a detailed inspection, during which a prepared cache was discovered underneath, and when it was opened, 1,760 plates of cannabis (zatla) weighing a total of 176 kilograms were found inside.

A detention report was drawn up for this purpose and, after consultation with the public prosecutor, authorization was given to transfer the file to the competent security services for further inquiry.
