Tunisia is a transition zone and ships berthed at La Goulette commercial port belong to North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) member countries, such as Italy, Canada, Greece and Turkey, the National Defence Ministry announced on Tuesday. This is a routine operation for logistical concerns.
These ships obtained prior authorisation for five days (February 17-21), under regulations in force.
The clarification given by the ministry comes in rejoinder to media reports about Turkish ships docking in the port of La Goulette.
