The Democratic bloc has declared its plan to boycott the plenary sessions. The move was due, according to bloc MPs, to the absence of Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi from all hearing sessions for approximately a year.
Such behaviour bars MPs from suitably exercising their oversight role, the bloc said in a press release, emphasising that by being present at such a session, Hichem Mechichi would have the chance to address the people through his representatives.
The bloc considered such behaviour unacceptable, particularly in the context of such an alarming health situation.
