Tunisia-Democratic bloc MPs organize sit-in in parliament

President of the democratic bloc Mohamed Ammar announced during today plenary session dedicated to the examination of the 2021 finance bill that the deputies of his bloc have retreated and that a sit-in has started in the seat of parliament. All escalation steps are to be anticipated, he added.

The MP stated the move was made because the Parliament chairman and his deputies were giving excuses for terrorism and violence under the dome of parliament.

The bloc president added that the resolution to withdraw and sit-in was taken because there has been no conviction of the aggression against MP Anouar Bechahed by MPs from the Al Karama coalition.
