Tunisia-Dismantling of a Takfirist cell in Medenine planning to join jihadists abroad

The Interior Ministry unveiled the discovery of a takfiri cell made up of three people planning to join one of the hotbeds of tension, specifying this was possible after a set of data received by the National Research Unit on terrorist crimes of the anti-terrorism directorate of the National Guard and the terrorism prevention directorate of the National Guard district in Medenine.

The ministry said that upon further questioning with the aforementioned group, it emerged that its members had robbed a house and seized an amount of jewellery estimated at 7,000 dinars, in an attempt to provide the financial sums necessary for their plan to join jihadists abroad.

In consultation with the prosecution of the Judicial pole for the Fight against Terrorism, it was authorized to keep them in detention and to seize all of the stolen objects and to take the necessary legal measures against them, according to the same source.
