Tunisia-Disruption of flights and chaos at Tunis-Carthage airport: FTAV president speaks out [Audio]

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, president of the Tunisian Federation of Travel and Tourism Agencies (FTAV) Ahmed Bettaieb remarked on the disruption of Tunisair flights as well as the chaos at Tunis-Carthage airport. Bettaieb stressed the lack of awareness of the necessity to reform the transport sector, revealing that the responsible minister obtained several complaints on this subject but he did not take the right decisions for political reasons.

“These reforms cannot be executed at the last minute. The crisis of Tunisair is due to the general policies which have been adopted at the national level” announced Bettaieb adding that political reasons are at the root of the crisis of the airline in question. Commenting on the chaos at Tunis-Carthage airport, our speaker said that the different parties involved must work in a coordinated approach while respecting the law.
