The ferry boats in Djerba resumed their complete activity on Thursday, after a partial restart on May 27, to secure the transport of students and teachers in the area of El Jorf and the high school of Djerba Ajim, as well as users with travel authorisations, the TAP reported.
Deputy director of the ferry service Farhat Larayedh announced that three ferries have been put into service for the transportation of passengers and cars until 09:00 p.m., adopting protective measures, following the health protocol against COVID-19.
These measures specify the decrease of the number of cars on board the ferries to make a place for passengers and motorcyclists, the official indicated.
This resumption follows the complete stoppage of the ferries’ activities since March 22, due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the closing of the island after the outbreak of an epidemic cluster.
