Tunisia-Djerba-New Year: Nearly 10 thousand reservations in tourist area

The regional tourism commissioner in Medenine, Hichem Mahouachi revealed that the number of hotel reservations in the Djerba-Zarzis tourist area, for the end-of-year celebrations, has so far attained 10,000 reservations.

He clarified that this figure is on an upward curve in the region where estimates from professionals in the sector count on some reservations oscillating between 12,500 and 13 thousand.

He also confirmed that the occupancy rate in hotel units in the region will increase to 60%, a rate whose scope is equal to that registered last season.

He said to ensure that control operations of tourist units, in particular hotels, restaurants and amusement parks, continue in the region as part of a surveillance program launched at the beginning of December which seeks to enforce hygiene rules and the quality of services, and to keep the attractiveness and reputation of the Djerba-Zarzis destination.
