The Ministry of Education, in partnership with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), has created student counselling and support offices in 9 experimental schools, as part of the four-dimensional model program aimed at stopping early school leaving.
Prefabricated rooms have been set up to act as listening and support offices for pupils at risk of dropping out of school prematurely, in experimental schools spread across the governorates of Tunis, Manouba, Monastir, Mahdia, Kef, Béja and Nabeul. , according to a press release published Friday by the UNICEF office in Tunisia.
Student counselling and support offices permit students in these schools to obtain the required help and support services according to the needs of each of them, to reduce the phenomenon of interruption and dropout.
The four-dimensional model program, implemented with funding support from the United States Agency for International Development, is based on several dimensions, including the establishment of a listening and support office within educational establishments, and the establishment of a mediation and educational support mechanism, through which the student benefits from educational assistance.
