Tunisia-Education Minister speaks out on violence in schools

On the sidelines of a press conference today, Education Minister Fethi Sellaouti talked about the phenomenon of violence in schools which has declined in recent years.

 

The minister clarified that 85% of acts of violence that happened in educational establishments had taken place in middle schools. He added that 40% of these acts were perpetrated primarily by students in 7th grade.

Calling on teachers to open a dialogue with their students, Sellaouti disclosed that a study will soon be carried out to define the reasons for the proliferation of this system.
