Tunisia – Elderly woman tested positive for COVID-19 after being buried

An elderly woman who had died and was buried in Medenine subsequently tested positive for covid.

The deceased had been admitted to the covid ward at Medenine hospital on suspicion of her coronavirus infection.

But she was, at the request of her family, sent home, where she died and was buried, before knowing she was covid +.

An administrative investigation was opened to clarify the circumstances in which the head of the hospital service authorized her  discharge, before knowing the result the test, in complete contravention of the health protocol in force.
